Sending Home Use Client Files
Once Home Use client files have been created, they must be sent to the Home Use system for installation. The process for sending these files is detailed below and is the same for all types of Home Use files.
Sending Files via the Home Use Cloud
Recent versions of EEGer allow files to be sent from within EEGer without needing to send the files by email or other means.
Note: These instructions are for EEGer4 440t or later. Both the Clinical system and the Home Use system must be on a compatible version of the software. For information on how to upgrade to the latest version, see here.
- Create the Home Use client files to send to the Home Use system.
- Ensure that the computer is connected to the internet and that the Clinical dongle is connected to the computer.
- Navigate to Client>Home Use>Upload HU files to cloud from the top toolbar of EEGer’s main screen.
- A new window will appear - enter the Dongle Number for the Home Use system into the first field.
- Next, enter a brief File Description to help identify the file at a later date. This marker can be in any format, and serves to allow the file to be more easily identified when uploaded. The format of this description could be anything- SMR1, FIRSTEKC, etc.
- Once the correct Dongle Number and an appropriate File Description have been entered, press the Upload button.
- A File Explorer window will appear that automatically goes to the location where Home Use client files are saved. Select the appropriate file and press Open to begin the upload. Note: The Date modified or Name can be used to identify the correct file to upload.
- A message will appear reporting that the upload was successful. Press Done to close out of the Home Use Cloud utility and return to EEGer.
- Instruct the home-user that the file is ready to download and install onto the Home Use system.
If errors are encountered during this process, see this article.
Sending Files via Email or File Sharing Service
If Home Use client files cannot be sent using the Home Use Cloud, it is possible to send them to the Home Use system by email or a third-party file sharing service.
Once a Home Use file has been created, EEGer will display a confirmation with the location that the file is saved at. Most commonly this is the computer’s Desktop or the EXPORTS folder at C:\EEGer\EXPORTS.
Locate the file and upload it to a file sharing service or send it as an email attachment. Once received, the file will need to be downloaded to the computer prior to being installed.
Note: Some email clients may block EEGer files being sent by email, see this article if encountering errors.
