Get Trained in Neurofeedback
We recommend comprehensive introductory courses that are BCIA-Approved and system-agnostic, meaning that the concepts taught can be easily applied regardless of which software you choose (and you’re not locked into a specific system).
Online Training
We offer introductory training courses through EEGLearn.com. Attendees work with experienced EEGer Mentors to train their own brain activity and learn practical and therapeutic skills to apply to any neurofeedback system.
There are three main components to this introductory training that help clinicians succeed:
Didactic Introduction A 36-hour self-paced didactic portion, with BCIA-Approved instructional lectures to learn the foundational concepts of neurofeedback.
Hands-On Training Twelve hours of training led by experienced clinical mentors with one-on-one mentoring sessions included. Learn how to setup and run a neurofeedback session, use the software, evaluate results, and apply the knowledge learned in the didactic portion.
EEGer Training Kit Receive a bundle of equipment that includes what you need to learn neurofeedback. Training kits include an EEGer Training License that can be easily upgraded to a full clinical system after completing training. Decide EEGer isn’t right for your needs? Return the equipment to receive a deposit back, or use the equipment with a different software system.

Already Trained?
If you have already attended training or have experience with another software, please review our licensing requirements and contact us! We’re happy to help you begin using EEGer for neurofeedback.
In-Person Training
We work with the Institute for Applied Neuroscience (IAN) to provide in-person training courses in Asheville, North Carolina.
Training is led by Dr. Ed Hamlin & Dr. Mary Ammerman, who over the past decade have been responsible for training hundreds of new clinicians in using neurofeedback.
Through didactic presentations and hands-on training, new clinicians learn the tools and therapeutic skills to incorporate clinical neurofeedback into their practice.
Training takes place over a four-day period with equipment provided on-site. To see more details and view upcoming session dates, see below!
“For psychotherapists seeking to help improve their clients' emotional, cognitive and behavioral functioning (and perhaps their own!) with neurofeedback, I recommend learning from Ed Hamlin. Ed is both a clinical and neuropsychologist with broad and deep experience in both fields. Perhaps even more importantly, he is an excellent teacher. His hands-on neurofeedback courses are accessible, thought-provoking and clinically informed. They deserve their reputation for excellence.”
