Reinstalling KEYLOK2 Dongle Drivers

There are two types of USB Security Dongles used by EEGer.

KEYLOK2 USB Dongle: Green, Number 50000-59999
FORTRESS USB Dongle: Gray, Number 70000-79999

The green KEYLOK2 dongle requires driver files to be installed to allow the security dongle to communicate with the computer. These drivers are installed alongside EEGer, but under certain conditions they can fail to be installed or become removed by Windows Updates or antivirus programs. When this happens, a red dongle not found message will be displayed in the center of EEGer's main screen despite the dongle being connected to the computer.

To manually install the drivers, follow these steps:

  1. Disconnect the dongle from the computer.
  2. Navigate to Help>Run tech support menu from the top toolbar of EEGer's main display. This should open up a smaller window with several options.
  3. Locate a green button labeled Start dongle installer in the bottom-right of the menu.
  4. When pressed, a prompt will appear asking to make changes to the computer. Click OK or Yes to proceed to the KEYLOK installer.
  5. In the bottom-left of the KEYLOK installer, check the box for Uninstall and then press Begin Uninstall.
  6. A confirmation message will appear - select Yes.
  7. Once finished, click Close.
  8. The Tech Support Menu will appear again - click the green button labeled Start dongle installer again.
  9. When pressed, a prompt will appear asking to make changes to the computer. Click OK or Yes to proceed to the KEYLOK installer.
  10. At the top of the KEYLOK installer, under Dongle Type, check the box for KEYLOK 2 (USB w/Driver). A warning to not connect the dongle may appear, press OK to dismiss it.
  11. Click Begin Install in the bottom-right of the menu.
  12. Complete the installation wizard that appears by pressing Next and Finish when prompted.
  13. Once completed, close the KEYLOK installer to return to the Tech Support Menu - Press Done (Exit) to return to the software's main screen.
  14. Close the software and reconnect the dongle to the computer.
  15. Once the dongle is connected, reopen EEGer and observe if the software reports dongle not found on the main screen of the software. If it does not report this error, the dongle drivers have been successfully installed!
