Black Screen Issue After Running Session

In some cases a black screen can be observed over top of the game screen, or when toggling to the game in single-monitor mode. This is observed most commonly after a session has already been run on the system.

To resolve the issue exit the session and close out of EEGer. Even if the screen is appearing black, it may be possible to press esc to exit the session or spacebar to toggle back to the wave screen. Reopen EEGer once closed and attempt to run a session again, observing if the issue is resolved.

It is possible that the above steps can not be followed and the black screen persists. We will use the computer’s Task Manager to tell Windows to force the black screen to close:

  1. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc together at the same time. In some cases, this combination will need to be pressed multiple times for the new window to stay on top of the black screen.
  2. A new window will appear that says Task Manager at the top. This shows all of the running programs and processes on the computer.
  3. Scroll down and find combo. Click on this process to highlight it. Click End task in the bottom right of the window. This should close EEGer and cause the black screen to disappear as well.
  4. The above step may need to be repeated with any running task called eeger.
  5. Reopen EEGer and observe if the issue is resolved.

If this issue occurs commonly, we suggest upgrading to the latest version of EEGer. This may help resolve the issue, or will make troubleshooting the issue easier when contacting support.
