Discreet Reward Sounds in Mazes
In Mazes and Variable Dot Mazes, the reward beeps are NOT directly related to the dots being eaten.
The reward beeps are generated when all the rewardable conditions are met.
The character on screen controls the eating of the dots. The character moves at a rate controlled by the ratio of reward amplitude to reward threshold. The ratio also controls the coloration of the character. Any inhibit stops the character (which darkens) and the character will slow down if the reward amplitude goes below threshold. The graphical update rate is "smoothed" so there are not high-rate changes taking place (to preclude seizure-inducing visual stimuli). When the character reaches the center of a grid square, the dot is 'eaten' but without any audible indication.
The point count shown is driven by the reward beeps and does not reflect the number of dots eaten by the character.
