Adjusting Autogoal/Auto-threshold Settings
Autogoal or auto-threshold (activated by hitting F11 during a session) is a feature in EEGer that automatically adjusts client thresholds based on real-time data while you are conducting a session. Autogoal functions by parsing incoming EEG data and setting the thresholds based off a number of constraints that the clinician can set while planning a session (or during a session by pressing g).
To adjust autogoal or auto-threshold settings in the session planning menu, click to the button in the top left of the session planning menu that says Autogoal Settings.
In the Autogoal Settings dialogue, you should see the following options:
Desired % over the threshold
The default value is 20. What this means is that based on this particular client's EEG in this particular session, when autotgoal is activated, it will adjust the threshold such the client will exceed the inhibit threshold 20% of the time.
If this number is set to 1, the client will (almost) never exceed the inhibit threshold when autogoal is activated (i.e., training will be very easy for them).
If it is set to 100, the client will (almost) always exceed the inhibit threshold when autogoal is activated (i.e., training will be near impossible).
Desired reward %
The default value is 65. What this means is that based on this particular client's EEG in this particular session, when autogoal is activated, it will adjust the threshold such that the client will be in a rewardable state 65% of the time.
If this number is set to 100, when autogoal is activated it will set the thresholds such that the client is (almost) always in a rewardable state (i.e., training will be very easy).
If this number is set to 1, when autogoal is activated it will set the thresholds such that the client is (almost) never in a rewardable state (i.e., training will be near impossible).
Minimum and Maximum uv
These settings allow you to place constraints on how high and how low you allow autogoal to set the threshold values.
